Benjamin Flajnik is and always has been an entrepreneur at heart. Benjamin studied music production in college and crafted his own wine and beer on the side. He then set out in the field of Internet advertising and soon realized his true passion was outside: creating, crafting, and getting his hands dirty. Benjamin was born and raised in Sonoma, California, which provided him the appropriate foundation for his passion for wine and the art of winemaking. Benjamin is currently studying winemaking at UC Davis and has worked in the alcoholic beverage industry on/off for the past eight years.
Evolve Winery was founded by two friends who have always had a passion for unique wines. After drinking numerous bottles of Sauvignon Blanc on their roof deck balcony in San Francisco (just the warm days), it occurred to them that they needed to start making their own wine. It was an easy decision for Benjamin and Mike to use only the finest fruit from sustainable, organic, and bio-dynamic growers, as it’s important to taste the vineyard’s “true” identity. While talking with San Diego 91X Evolve Winery owners Benjamin Flajnik and Michael Benziger shared that Benjamin is a big time San Diego Chargers fan who participates in “Frightening Lightning” tailgate parties and other events under the moniker “Work Horse.”
The 28-year old bachelor from San Diego will be competing for the heart of Ashley Hebert in season 7 of The Bachelorette.

According to Reality Steve, Ben Flajnik is another lucky guy who gets to take Ashley on a hometown date to visit his family. For your information, the other confirmed contestant is Constantine Tzortzis. It is interesting how out of a group of bachelors with a variety of careers and lifestyles, two out of the final four men are directly related to the food and wine industries. In other words, Ashley could marry into owning an Italian restaurant or a winery in Sonoma, CA. Is it a hint about Ashley’s preferences or is it just a coincidence; or then again maybe it just symbolizes that she is ‘hungry’ for love! I think it confirms the old adage that the way to love is the same for both sexes – taste and digestion. After all, much of attraction begins at the oral stage, i.e. kissing and gorging ourselves on our lover during romance and sensuality.
On another note, perhaps Ashley is just impressed with Ben’s ecological sensitivity and organic idealism. For instance, his winery focuses upon what he terms the ‘true’ identity of the fruit, symbolic of a sincere desire to keep it real. Actually, this idealism fits well with his goals in life which is to essentially stay true to one’s own self, to not just sell out for the big buck. It also speaks volumes about his inner persona, that is, a guy who is a down to earth, a practical yet romantic minded individualist, a person who puts a lot of emphasis on being sincere, not sacrificing his high standards. This high-mindedness has put a magical feather in his appeal cap, a quality that draws Ashley magnetically to him.
Ashley adores practical, sincere, idealistic men who have a bold dash of individuality, something unique that sets them aside and makes them stand out. Look forward to a lot of heart felt energy to flow between these two as they expose honest feelings in a rare display of sincerity and forthrightness. But does he have the physical attraction of this other person who sits just in front of Ashley in my visions? Now that’s another question.
One hint about this race to win her heart – another bachelor is already out front – however, Ben is closing in fast. Whew! This should turn out to be a real head banger!
