The picture of Brad hugging a blonde while crying ignited a lot of speculation recently. As soon as I saw the photo, I immediately remembered Ali’s season when she spared Chris’ feelings by letting him know before the Final Rose Ceremony that he wasn’t the one. However, in this case, an unidentified blond seems to be comforting Brad while he’s going through some sort of an emotional catharsis. Although we can’t see the girl’s face, she seems to be Emily Maynard.
Furthermore, Brad’s emotions appear to be profound. If you look at Brad’s face, his forehead is bulging and he seems to be desperately seeking consolation over a deeply troubling issue. Such a strong emotional response could only be evoked by the loss of someone he cared for. Outside of that, I just can’t imagine Brad being moved so much by a girl this early in the season.
According to my investigation, this event appears to be taking place in South Africa or, even more likely, the day before the Final Rose Ceremony. If we consider Reality Steve’s episode-by-episode breakdown to be accurate, we can isolate and examine all of Emily’s one-on-one dates with Brad Womack.
In episode 3 – Emily Maynard and Brad take a private jet to a vineyard in Santa Maria. Of course, there is an emotional scene when Emily tells Brad her tragic story. There is an outside possibility that Brad is moved by Emily’s story of the loss of her boyfriend. However, the inconsistency that comes to mind is that Emily would be experiencing the catharsis, not Brad. Hence, it is unlikely that this photo derives from this episode.
In episode 7 - Shawntel and Emily apparently share a 2-on-1 date with Brad. Again, it’s not likely that Brad would get that distraught during a 2-on-1 date with Shawntel and Emily. For one thing, they wouldn’t have enough time to open up with each other. Such dates are often more playful and superficial.
Episode 8 features hometown dates. Brad visits Charlotte, NC to meet Emily’s family and her daughter. Again it is possible for an emotional scene to transpire at Emily’s home, but highly improbable.
We also know that in episode nine Brad spends overnight dates with Emily, Chantal and Ashley in South Africa. Other details are not clear at this point. What we are left with is Brad’s overnight date with Emily in South Africa or the last date before the Final Rose Ceremony. If you think about it, it is very possible that Emily Maynard told Brad she wasn’t really into this relationship.
In short, if Emily wasn’t quite sure of her feelings for Brad, it’s reasonable for her to withdraw before the Final Rose Ceremony, the day she had to make a commitment. After all, Emily has a child and this equates to additional responsibility. Honestly, I just can’t see her jumping into a relationship on a leap of faith and relocating to Texas.
Of course, you are welcome to take this suggestion with a grain of salt – it’s just a speculation.
Update: According to Reality Steve,
“I’m here to finally give clarity to who this is. We only have two blondes left on the show, Emily and Britt. Well, it’s neither of them. The person Brad is hugging is his sister-in-law, Dillon, who is his twin brother Chad’s wife. This takes place in South Africa when his family comes to visit them. Hell, they might not even actually show this scene later this season and just used it to get people to start talking about which girl it is. So there. Put it to rest. That’s who it is.”
According to Reality Steve’s spoilers (February 28, 2011) Brad is engaged to Emily. Let’s see how it will actually go down…

i think she just realize that she wasnt really over the fact that her boyfriend died in a plane crash. and being the fact that she had too moved on too fast. i am personally happy if this is how she departed because he may not have felt good if he had too do it on his own and they are not compatible
Hey why didnt you pick Emily? She is soo perfect for you not Chantal she slapped you… And Emily look at her story you would be a great dad for her daughter.. I think you should of rejected Chantal but also i think you have made a BIG mistake.
I think Michelle is a scary girl. He is gonna be sorry. Wait till he send her home. She gonna cuss him out. LOL. Watch. She just seems so desperate.
I sincerely hope Brad does choose Chantal O’Brien and propose. I think she is sincere and quick witted. A good match for him because he seems rather reserve and she has a spark that can get his heart rate into second gear. I think she give him “butterflies” and he LIKES that. I see them together and happy!!!!!

i will be shocked if brad doesn’t pick Emily, I have watched every season and she is the best contestant I have ever seen on any show. Every man in the world would love to have a wife like her !!!
I agree Emily is a sweetheart, but being involved with Rick Hendrick and that family, why do u need to go on national television to find a husband..for goodness sake he has access to all sorts of men..like Dale Jr for instance just saying there’s better than Brad!
